I believe that it is extremely important for Hockey Players to continue their training program during the season. We see evidence of this every year with the NCAA Collage players that we train, these athletes are always among the top performers at Premier Strength. There In-season training programs that they follow at school allow them to maintain Strength, Power, Speed, Agility, Quickness and Conditioning. This is important not only to allow them to perform at the highest level during the season, but to also put them in a position to get better each off-season. We see many of our athletes come back at the start of each off-season considerably weaker, slower, fatter or lighter etc. then where they finished the previous off-season. This makes it difficult to continue to improve with each off-season training program. We spend much of the off-season getting them back to where they were the previous year and if we are lucky they will gain a little more by the end of the training program.
Imagine a scenario where you start the off-season at almost the same place that you ended the previous year. Your gains would be greater then every imagined and the results on the ice would be outstanding. A good in-season program can make this possible. A good in-season training program will also help you perform better on the ice by insuring proper RECOVERY, injury prevention, aiding in injury rehabilitation, and teaching proper nutrition.

Premier Strengths In-Season Training Program

When: Monday & Wednesday
Time: 330-530 pm
Where: Louie St.Laurent High School Weight Room (11230 – 43 ave)
Duration: October 3 to December 21
Cost: $600+ GST

Spots are limited click to register or email barry@premierstrength.com for more info.

Please forward this to any Elite Hockey Players that you think might benefit from this program. You do not have to be a current Premier Strength Athlete.

Thanks

Making Stridz Athlete Development is pleased to provide all athletes training with Premier Strength the opportunity to have a Skating Mechanics Assessment. The assessment will provide an athlete with a greater understanding of what areas of their skating stride they need to be focusing on during the off season and leading into the start of camp. The assessment will consist of the following skills which will be filmed for further analysis:

Forwards Skating Assessment:

Forwards Skating Stride

90 Degree Direction

90 Degree Direction Change

Backwards to Forwards Transition

Pro Agility Test

The pro agility assessment is the same assessment used by Hockey Canada, where an athlete is required to do multiple forwards to backwards (and backwards to forwards) transitions while maintaining puck control during a timed event.

The athlete will be provided a CD with the full skating mechanics assessment including body positions, joint angles, and time to complete the skills. The assessment will highlight strengths and weaknesses in the athletes skating stride as well as help to provide cues for technique correction. The athlete will also be scheduled to come in for a one on one meeting to go through the assessment with our skating mechanics expert.

Benefits:

Improved skating mechanics and efficiency

Improved body awareness

Improved method of measuring and tracking progress

Improved method for athlete comparison (to other athletes or themselves at a later date)
