Spotlight Athlete of the Week: Meet David Quenneville

July 17th, 2015

This week’s spotlight player is 5th year Premier Strength athlete Dave Quenneville.

The third in the line of hockey brothers, Dave has been training at the Shamrock since he was 12 years of age. Strong for his size, Dave’s work ethic pushes him in the gym, trying to get the best he can out every workout. Before and after training, Dave can be found shooting pucks for hours. Committed to improving, Dave continually puts the work in to develop into a top NHL draft pick in the year leading up to his draft eligibility.

Dave was drafted 10th overall in the 2013 WHL draft by the Medicine Hat Tigers and in his first year in the league he registered 20 points in 67 games. On the ice, Dave is a dynamic defensemen who can anchor the point on the power play. His hockey smarts ensure that he makes the best possible play, drawing some early NHL scouting attention. Dave has represented Canada in the U-17 World Championships and was invited to Hockey Canada’s U18 camp in Calgary this coming August. His high energy and work ethic shows on the ice as does his compete level.

The future is bright for the youngest Quenneville brother as he will no doubt follow in the footsteps of older brothers Peter and John and enter into the NHL at next year’s draft. Premier Strength is proud of the athlete Dave has become and looks forward to many more years of training as his hockey career takes off.
