Spotlight Athlete of the Week: Meet Tyler Benson

June 12th, 2015

This week’s spotlight player, is five year Premier Strength athlete Tyler Benson. At the age of 17, Tyler already has a max squat of 365lbs and is easily the strongest athlete in his age group. Tyler’s goal for the summer is to use his strength to become more powerful and explosive both on the ice and on the track. In only 4 weeks Tyler has already improved by 5 hundredths in his 20m sprint and by a huge 16 hundredths margin in the pro-agility test.

On the ice, Tyler is a force to be reckoned with. In his first full WHL season with Vancouver Giants he finished with 45 points in 62 games. As a 16 year old, Tyler represented Canada in the Under 18 World Championships and finished the tournament 4 points in 7 games played. The future is bright for Tyler in his hockey career and we are excited to help him improve in the offseason.
